Elaschuk Thatched Roof House

« Back to Album Photo 3 of 3 Previous | Next
Keystone Pioneers Museum has completed their project to "mothball" the historic Elaschuk House. When a public meeting to discuss the Elaschuk House did not come up with a committee willing to restore the historic house, the KPM board decided to preserve the structure from the elements. If, at some time in the future, a group comes forward with the funds and expertise to restore the house, the basic structure will still be available for restructuring. In the wind and cold during the last week of October, KP Roofing and some KPM board members wrapped the entire structure in a very large tarp.
